Most good things come through the gauntlet of challenge.  

I’m always reminded of this when I witness the miracle of metamorphosis. 

Butterflies and their remarkable beauty are such a strong visual reminder to our daily lives that often, or maybe always, come littered with struggles.  Sometimes we feel overwhelmed and almost suffocated by the challenges in our daily lives, but I’m a firm believer that when we take on those struggles head on and embrace our path, just like that Monarch, we become unimaginably beautiful and as we should be.  Our marks show where we’ve been…they make us completely unique…they become the patterns and colors that transform us from vulnerable and hungry to delicately bold and peacefully strong.

We are all ReMARKable…although, sometimes we’re still in that growing and changing process.  Arguably, our lives are a series of re-emergences alternating from caterpillar to butterfly…over and over our patterns and colors become our own raising us beyond what our imaginations could ever comprehend or create. 

We need these daily reminders.  Every day, we face challenges and it’s hard.  Life is hard.  That’s not to say it isn’t beautiful, because it is and it’s filled with wonder, but not by the absence of these challenges but often because of them.  

Another thing that marvels me about the journey and presence of butterflies is their grace.  They are so delicate, but show such strength in their bold patterns and colors.  We can be strong but still maintain sensitivity and softness of touch.  I don’t think those qualities are celebrated enough in our culture, yet we all rely on them so greatly.
